We are away on Holiday/ Business from August 19th- September 15. We have two weddings to attend and the Isle of Wight Rally. During this period we will be unable to accomodate custom rush orders, so if you are wanting us to do your patches please get your designs in early. At least 4-5 weeks before you need them in hand and earlier if you have a complicated design .
As always we continue adding new designs. The latest ones can be seen on the right. More are on the way, including a Vespa key chain.
We started April 10th, 2006 with 16 designs and now we have over 150 and counting. In celebrating this occasion we’ve lowered the price of what’s left of those 16 original designs by 50% until they sell out.
We just finished attending Amerivespa 2009 in Los Gatos. Which was a great time, and we appreciate all the support and positive feedback we received while attending the rally. Los Gatos/Saratoga Springs is a beautiful area and there were alot of very cool rides organized.
There are a couple of businesses we want to tell you about. On the technical side, our scooters are serviced by Benzina. With over 25 years of mechanical experience in top shops, they know scooters inside and out and are very reasonable to boot! We are incredibly lucky to have them around.
A very cool artist / furniture maker John Woodson, with his company W.O.M.B.A.T Art LTD.
A newly revived club The Jaguars SC was actually first established in 1984.
Our eBay store just passed 1000 positive feedback posts with a 100% rating, (well, the new one – the old one was broken into by someone trying to sell a car, a Honda, and eBay shut them down and made it a serious pain in the ass for us to sort out along the way. It was sitting at over 1,700 and now that we have it back, it carries on, but we have something else in mind for that eBay store…).

Thank you very much to all our customers for helping Modern Suede celebrate our third anniversary. Much appreciated!

Moira finally has her own scooter, an all-original 1961 GS 150, which we were fortunate to find in Oregon. You can see some photographs in the “About Us” section.
Our first rally of the season was the High Rollers Weekend in Las Vegas, March 18th – 22nd, which was a stunner! Solid people, (well, for the scooter crowd), solid soul all-nighters, The English Beat, come on, killer scooters. Such an amazing time. Moira has some photographs up on our Facebook page.
There are a couple of shops we want to tell you about. We just picked up four Michelin S83s from Vespa Kelowna. Always helpful, they sent them along with a local scooterist to save us the shipping. Thank you so much. In Las Vegas our booth was situated near “Aggro,” a clothing company that specialized in mod apparel. (Moira picked up a red Harrington). With two months until our third anniversary, we've marked down 16 of our original patch designs by 50% until they sell out. This will hopefully clear the way for new designs, (as well as drawer space!)
On that note, ten new designs are making their debut. Check them out on the right.
As rally season approaches, we encourage everyone to get designs in early to make sure they're on time and exactly the way you want them.
You can now purchase Gift Certificates from the website for friends and family, so yes, changes and improvements are on the way!
Our eBay store has also reached a milestone with 400 positive feedback posts with a 100% feedback rating. Thank you so much everyone!
We're starting the season at the Las Vegas High Rollers Weekend March 19th - 23rd, so hopefully we'll see you there.

Happy Holidays 2008! Two months have passed since we updated our “news,” so here we go…
What’s new? Eight designs, which you can see to the right! More are on the way as we’re going to try to turn them out much faster now and more frequently. On the way are large Vespa and Lambretta back patches since we’ve received so many requests. Suggestions, as always, are welcome.
Many, many thanks to the Sudgen family for the latest member to our family, a 1960 series II Lambretta Li 150 frame with a 1960 series II Lambretta TV 175 engine. It’ll be a project, that’s for sure, but we’re more than happy to give it a shot! There are a couple of photos on our “About Us” page.
A big Thank you to everyone at the Long Beach “Classic Not Plastic” rally and the Bar Italia Classics swap meet. It’s just great being around so many people into the scooter scene.
In 2008 we managed to make it to six rallies and six swap meets, so we’ll see what happens next year. We’re already looking forward to all the local rallies as well as Las Vegas, Amerivespa and maybe even the Isle of Wight! Oh yeah!

2.5 years and counting...
We just passed another marker with our little company and we're grateful to everyone for helping us along the way.
More importantly, we've just added 15 new patch and key chain designs, and retired a couple of others that sold out and which we chose to replace rather than re-issue. We're working on many more designs and as always, if you have suggestions, please let us know.
Customs continue coming in from around the world, so if there is a design we can sort out for you, we're here.
Check out some of the cool shops we've come across, including Brazimoto, makers of seriously cool riding gloves, East Side Scooters out of Nashville, if you happen to be in the area, Amy's Shop , where Todd bought his first Harrington jacket, and Drunken Ambitions, makers of custom scooter accessories. They're all in our "other sites" section.
What else is going on? We have an older cousin for our 1964 Vespa GS 160, a 1963 Vespa 90, in parts mind you, so it's going to be a winter project.... We'll see how it goes, first and foremost is collecting the missing parts, a speedo, a gas tank...
We're also looking at adding a new section, something called "Patch Exchange." We know there are often leftover patches from rallies, extra club patches kicking around and collections out of control and we thought it would be a good idea to help introduce those who want to exchange some of their extra patches for someone else's extra patches somewhere else in the world. It'll be a simple format. We can post up information including a photo of the patch(es) you want to swap and you can contact others when you spot a cool patch that you want to collect. We'll stay out of it as much as possible, but we thought it would be a cool idea. Watch for it.

Is that finally the end of the rally season? It depends where you are, but for us, the last remaining event of the year will be the swap meet up in Red Deer at the end of October, then let it snow!
On our travels through the summer we met loads of good people at all the rallies and were helped out on more than one occasion when the tires blew out, the light bulbs blew out, the oil needed changing, the fuel tap needed changing, you get the idea. Thank you so much to everyone for the kindness.
Now we're settled back into serious business mode, well as serious as it gets for scooterists anyway. We're adding loads and loads of new designs, both patches and key chains and will continue to sponsor rallies and events year-round .

We are back from attending AMERIVESPA in Chattanooga, TN and the Middle Ground Rally in Burlington, VT.
It has been a very busy and enjoyable summer so far and we hope it continues. We will be attending the Worcester Rally in Vancouver on the Labour day weekend, which we are looking forward to. At this rally we will be rolling out some new stock, which will then be available on line as well. We will be posting those items coming soon under their appropriate categories.

On April 10th we celebrated ourTWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY as a company, learning many lessons along the way. We started with 16 original patch designs and now we feature over 100, as well as many key chains.

One month until our 2nd Anniversary! We started with only 16 patch designs and now we have over 100 and counting.
We just posted our new patches and keychains up for sale. We also have 18 new designs being made right now. Of course we are always working on more designs.
We encourage everyone to get in their rally and club designs, it helps us and it helps you in being well prepared. Edmonton already has theirs in hand, and the GVVR's are in the works.

2008 BABY!!! Slowly, but surely our stock is going up and up with more and more designs! Our key chains are finally on the way in the next week as well as dozens of new patches. Check the headings to the left to see what's coming up.
We encourage everyone to get in their rally and club designs in early, it helps us and it helps you in being well prepared. Edmonton already has theirs in, the first of the season, even though the rally isn't for another six months. Good on them though. It's one hell of a killer design and a mark to match!

On October 10th we mark 1.5 years in business, a small milestone that sees our selection sore to 115 designs. We'll press on with more designs and more products including key-chains and t-shirts. As always, it's babysteps... Any suggestions? Pass them on and we'll see what we can do...
What else is new? Well, on our website all SHIPPING IS FREE! No matter the order, from one to one hundred, worldwide, it's on us. So far we've sold our patches to 25 countries, 48 states and 8 out of 10 provinces, (we are based in Canada afterall, so we have to shout out).
In our eBay store, our rating remains at 100% as we chase down another milestone of 500 posts! It's getting there.

Well into our second year, we've grown considerably from 16 original designs to 75 original and NOS patches! We owe it all to you, so, thank you for all the feedback, support, suggestions, and custom orders. We're grateful and will continue designing more patches and will post them up as soon as they're ready.
On our website all shipping is FREE! No matter the order, from one to one hundred, worldwide, it's on us. So far we've sold our patches to 24 countries, 48 states and 8 out of 10 provinces, (we are based in Canada afterall, so we have to shout out).
We especially want to thank Delia Schatz for all her support this year, selling some of our patches out at Amerivespa as well as in the Vancouver area, and spreading the word to various clubs and shops. The next round is on us Delia!

Ten months in and we've managed to sell our patches to 20 countries around the world, 27 states in the USA and 4 provinces in Canada, (we are Canadian afterall, so that bit of information is more or less mandatory).
Thank you to everyone. Our ebay feedback remains 100% and your comments are echoed right back at you!
Most importantly we've added four new designs to our "scooter" patches and five new designs to our "motorcycle" patches. It's a small expansion, but you know, babysteps!
We've also added bulk rates for clubs and shops, (please contact us), and eliminated shipping costs on additional patches.
Thank you to everyone who has purchased patches and thank you for sending in your photographs. We're adding them now.
